Make CBD Oil at Home: Olive Oil Extraction

Native Cultivations olive oil extraction cbd

The goal of CBD extraction is quite simple; you want to pull the cannabinoid out and have it in a highly concentrated form. This makes it suitable for human consumption. To get out the oil that you are seeking, you have to use a plant that is rich in CBD.

There are special strains such as Cherry Wine that have a high level of CBD concentration as well as a low THC concentration. You have to have a favorable CBD/THC ratio. So that because if plants have a THC concentration of even 6%, the extra high CBD content should hopefully yield no THC effects.

So this means that any CBD extracted from it will have basically no psychoactive effects. CBD oil that is made from hemp is completely legal in virtually every country around the world and all 50 states in the U.S. This is due to the lack of THC content.

There are many different methods to extract CBD oil. Some are better for home use than others. It is essential to be very safe no matter the method you choose.

The Olive Oil Extraction Method

This is the most beginner friendly method for CBD extraction. Other liquids can be used but, olive oil is by far the most commonly used substance in this type of extraction. This method is perfect for those who want to do CBD oil extraction at home.

The first step involves making sure that the raw plant material is the right temperature. This means you have to heat your plant to a certain temperature for a specific length of time so that you can activate the plant’s chemicals.

You want to heat your plant to 284 degrees Fahrenheit for half an hour. Then add the plant material to the olive oil and heat to 212 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 2 hours. This process will result in the extraction of the oil that you wanted to extract.

The olive oil extraction method is very safe, so you won't have to worry about blowing anything up or setting things on fire. It is also very inexpensive. You most likely won’t have to buy anything that’s not already in your kitchen.

However, this method of extraction yields a perishable product. So as soon as it is done, make sure to put it in a cool, dark place as quickly as possible. This method also yields a very small amount of oil, so this would be a wrong choice for companies, but a good one for personal use.
